So, we have had a great time once again in Wauwinet on Nantucket Island. We are again at “Hornbeam” on Crows Nest Way. Irene came up with Kirk along with cousins Johnny and Lisa. Ned drove up with Bridget (we parked the car in Hyannis) and all came accross on the Ferry after driving through the night on 6/26/2009. Ann and Danica came up on Wednesday 7/1 and Annie and Jane came up on Friday along with Matthew and Rory. Debbie & Larry came up on Friday and we were all set for the nice sunny weather that Larry and Debbie brought with them. And, … Tommy and Vicki arrived to top of the weekend attendees.
Our friend Anne Geary was on Island with Scott. Irene and Anne enjoyed a sunset cruise on the Friendship Sloop, Endeavor.
On the morning of July 4th, Irene, Ann, Danica , Jane, Annie, Kirk and Rory ran in the Nantucket Firecracker 5k run where Irene came in 2nd in her age group. Here are the family results:

We had a nice bar-b-que on the 4th of July and we were joined by our friends Didi, Tom & Emily. Hot dogs, hamburgers, linguica & chorizo with sauerkraut & beans. We forgot to do the corn on the cob but noone noticed. Then a contingent headed to town for fireworks on one of the best clear nights of our time here.
Games were played by all on most nights. Scrabble, Scattergories, Dominoes, Monopoly, and Larry introduced everyone to a dice game called Bones. Bones is the hit of the season!!!
On Sunday the adults had dinner on the yacht Big Zip as the guests of Tim Donahue and his wife Jayne. What a great treat.
On the eve of Tommy’s birthday, Bridget baked a cake and we had a pasta dinner. The next night Ned, Irene, Tommy, Vicki, and Didi & Tom went for our annual birthday dinner at The Company of the Cauldron for a great dinner, then cocktails at Toppers in the Wauwinet Hotel.
More to follow ….
