I was a colleague of Ed Visser some 30 years ago at GSA Region 2 at 26 Federal Plaza. I was just graduated from college. We worked together in the same office for about 3 years. Ed spoke about Masonry a good deal, a topic I found quaint but not at all interesting at the time. Thirty years later, in 2008 I became a Master Mason and thought about Ed – it is only now I learn of his death in the same year I was raised. He was a charming, engaging man – 30 years ahead of me in his conservatism (I think I’m now far to his right!). I’m saddened I wasn’t able to share my being raised with him – in a very real way, he inspired me.

Thank you for your comment Tony. I am Ed’s oldest son, Ned. it makes us very proud to know that Ed touched you in such a personal way. I will pass this on to my brothers, John & Jim who are both Masons.-Ned
